Buenos Aires Cup and Marathon
December 12-15, 2002 - Argentina

There aren't many skating events in the Northern
Hemisphere in December, so that is a good time for
skaters in the northern hemisphere to head south.
Skaters from all over the world are invited to attend the
Buenos Aires Speed Cup and Marathon December 12-15, 2002
in Argentina. Accommodations are not expensive,
and visiting skaters will very welcome.
The event is being organized by the
Velez Sarsfield Athletic Club. For many years
the
City of Buenos Aires has not had an international
skating tournament, but now for the first time,
skaters all over the world be have an opportunity to
skate in one of the most important cities in Latin
America.
The Track Event
The track events will take place over 3 days, from
Decmber 12 to December 14, on the
skating track of the Velez Sarfield Athletic
Club in the District of Liniers in
Buenos Aires.
The track is 250 meters in length. You can
get more information about the track and the
skating surface by contacting the event
organizers.
The Marathon
The marathon will take place on Sunday,
December 15 on a 4 KM circuit on Juan B. Justo Avenue
in downtown Buenos Aires.
Prizes
The top 5 skaters in the General category
will receive a medal, plus either a buying
order or a sports cloth.
The top 5 skaters in the Buenos Aires Marathon
will receive a trophy and a Sports Cloth.
There will also be awards for the most medals
received per club and e points
awarded for the three best skaters in each club.

take place at the Jose Amalfitani Stadium on
December 11, 2002 at 9:00 in the evening.
